It is a petroleum product, but t I'm sure lithium grease is just as good.įor the motor bearings and spindle bearing, I use 3-1 20w oil (the machine type, not the regular household stuff).
For the mechanical parts I used phonolube by GC which is designed for this application. I was too afraid to disassemble too much as the clockwork type mechanisms are easy to get apart.not so easy to get back together. I found that only partial disassembly was necessary as I was able to pull some of the mechanisms away (hanging by their pinions) and clean what was reachable. I used lighter fluid to remove most of the grease. I've restores two Garrard Type A changers and I hear ya' brother about the grease!!! In fact I got one table for free simply because it was completly seized, so the owner thought it was 'broken'.
Garrard, made some real dogs, but on occasion they got it right, and the Zero-100 was one of the 'right'. Nice table.the Zero-100 was one of their best and has a following because of it.
